Abstract
Authors presented a statistical observation and brief reviews of 99 cases of abdominal injuries who were admitted to St Paul¢¥s hospital, Catholic Medical Center, during the period from Jan 1963 to May 1967.
Among the 99 patients of abdominal trauma, non-penetrating wounds were 84 cases (84.8%) and penetrating wounds 15 cases (15.2%). In 60 patients(60. 6 %) the cause of trauma was car accident.
Kidney was the most common organ of injured (42.5 % ), spleen (26.0 %) and liver (18.1% ). The high frequency of associated injury was spine froceure (18. 1 % ). The common complication after operation for abdominal injuries were wound infection (5.3%), evisceration and pulmonary complication. Treatment for the rupture of abdominal solid organs were also discussed.
